My favorite posts involve comparison photos of my dolls. I love to see (and share) the similarities and differences between the "same" dolls. Here is my new Lorrie with Lilith, another 1969 side-part Party. That's not a ding on Lilith's nose, just a light reflection; her vinyl is far less matte than Lorrie's.
Just for fun, here are Pandora, Lorrie, and Lilith ... pretty maids all in a row. Pandora (who I originally called Layla) is from 1968, and has almost-black brunette hair. She was most likely originally a Gingham, but was dressed in Party attire by her previous owner.

Meet Pandora
Pandora is my most recent Sasha purchase, and has jumped to the head of the blog queue. I bought her as a birthday present for myself, and thus it seemed appropriate to introduce her on my birthday. Isn't she a beauty?!

Her original stringing (white arms, striped legs) and almost-black brunette hair indicate she is from 1968. But Dorisanne Osborn's book notes that "A factory created side part was used on some of Sasha Brunette 'Party' (4-108) made in 1969-1970." Since she is not wearing her original clothing, I can think of two possibilities: she was either a very early Brunette Party, or a Brunette Gingham with an atypical side part. It doesn't matter to me either way, as she is a truly lovely doll regardless. I like her as a Sasha Party, since she makes a nice foil for Lilith, my other brunette side part.

1969 Side Parts - II
The last time I posted about my 1969 side parts I had two of them. Now I have three, so I decided to take new pictures of them together. Fortunately I did this on the glorious day I took pictures of Dylan Danica, as we've had rain the past two days.

Here are Dagmar, Lilith, andDylan Danica on the climbing frame in my backyard. Lilith and Dylan Danica both had a ribbon tied in their hair when I received them, but all three now sport small vintage barrettes.

Here are Dagmar, Lilith, and

1969 Side Parts
I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of my 1969 side part girls together. They are a bit like yin and yang: one with dark hair/eyes and light summery clothes, the other with light hair/eyes and dark wintery clothes.

Yet they both have the same peach-colored lips and thick bangs.

Here's a top view of their parts, each with a slightly different rooting pattern.

Meet Lilith
Here is another contender for my favorite Sasha doll. Lilith is a 1969 Sasha Brunette Party. She is my first 1960's brunette! I'd been hesitant to buy an older brunette because so many have issues with falling hair. I found her on the Sasha Doll UK website, where her hair was described as "in perfect condition with none falling or missing". Having purchased a few other dolls from Shelly, I trusted her description. As you can see, she is lovely and does indeed have very nice hair.

She came with a pink ribbon tied in her hair which I have replaced (at least for the time being) with a vintage barrette, also purchased from Shelly.
